Laurel Wildcats Youth Sports

Laurel Boys & Girls Club

The Laurel Athletic League was established in 1955 and in 1964 changed its’ name to the Laurel Boys and Girls Club (LBGC). The LBGC was established by local citizens with a common interest in serving the youth of our community.

Initially, the membership was approximately 50 boys and in 1965, the membership grew to 400 youth participants. Currently, the LBGC serves over 3500 youths and is one of the largest boys and girls clubs in the state of Maryland.

Basketball

The Laurel Boys & Girls Club Basketball Program is dedicated to developing confident, disciplined, and team-oriented youth both on and off the court. Through skill-building practices, competitive gameplay, mentorship, and leadership opportunities, our program creates a positive environment where young athletes can grow in character, sportsmanship, and self-esteem. We focus on teaching the fundamentals of basketball while encouraging teamwork, accountability, and perseverance. Serving youth throughout the community, the program helps players build lasting friendships, stay active, and develop life skills that extend far beyond the game.

Football

The Laurel Boys & Girls Club Football Program helps young athletes build strength, discipline, teamwork, and confidence both on and off the field. Through practices, games, mentorship, and positive coaching, players learn the fundamentals of football while developing sportsmanship, leadership, and accountability. Our program provides a safe and supportive environment where youth can stay active, build friendships, and grow into strong competitors and responsible young leaders.

Girls Flag Football

The Laurel Boys & Girls Club Flag Football Program provides youth with an exciting and inclusive opportunity to learn the game of football in a fun, safe, and team-focused environment. Designed to build athletic skills, confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship, the program teaches the fundamentals of passing, defense, strategy, and leadership while encouraging physical activity and positive character development. Through supportive coaching and friendly competition, participants gain valuable life skills, create lasting friendships, and develop a love for the game both on and off the field.

Soccer

The Laurel Boys & Girls Club is excited to introduce its newly developed Soccer Program, created to provide youth with an engaging, inclusive, and skill-building athletic opportunity within the community. The program is designed to teach the fundamentals of soccer while promoting teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and confidence in a fun and supportive environment. Players will have the opportunity to develop their technical skills, improve physical fitness, and build lasting friendships through practices, games, and team activities.

As the program continues to grow, the Laurel Boys & Girls Club Soccer Program aims to create a positive space where youth of all experience levels can learn, compete, and thrive both on and off the field. Through strong mentorship, community involvement, and a focus on character development, the program is committed to helping young athletes develop leadership skills, resilience, and a lifelong love for the game.

Majorettes

The Laurel Boys & Girls Club Majorette Program is a dynamic and empowering program that combines dance, performance, athleticism, and leadership to inspire youth both on and off the stage. Through high-energy performances, disciplined training, and creative expression, participants develop confidence, teamwork, dedication, and strong character while showcasing their talents in the community and at competitive events.

A standout component of the program is the award-winning Elite Dance Program, which has earned recognition for its outstanding performances, precision, creativity, and commitment to excellence. The Elite team provides advanced training and performance opportunities for dedicated dancers who strive to compete and perform at a high level while serving as role models for younger participants.

The program creates a supportive and motivating environment where dancers build lifelong friendships, leadership skills, and self-confidence while embracing the culture, passion, and artistry of majorette dance. Through mentorship, teamwork, and community pride, the Laurel Boys & Girls Club Majorette Program continues to positively impact youth and foster the next generation of strong, talented leaders.

Cheerleading

The Laurel Boys & Girls Club Cheerleading Program provides youth with an exciting opportunity to build confidence, teamwork, discipline, and school spirit through the sport of cheer. Designed for participants of various skill levels, the program focuses on developing cheer fundamentals including motions, chants, jumps, stunts, dance, performance techniques, and leadership skills in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.

More than just cheering on the sidelines, the program encourages personal growth, positive self-expression, commitment, and strong sportsmanship. Participants learn the importance of teamwork, accountability, and perseverance while building friendships and creating lasting memories through practices, games, community events, and performances.

The Laurel Boys & Girls Club Cheerleading Program is committed to empowering youth by helping them develop confidence both on and off the mat while fostering pride, leadership, and community involvement.

Since 1955 the mission of the Laurel Boys and Girls Club is to provide youth with safe after-school sports/activity programming that promotes productive work ethics, strong critical thinking skills, positive socialization, physical fitness, confidence and responsibility.
